 - Vocabulary: zoo, zebu and zebra

 - Differentiated teaching:

 + Incomplete ss: can pronounce the name of the letter Z/z in the words zoo, zebu and zebra

 + Well-completed ss: can recognize the words in different situations when listening

UNIT 10: AT THE ZOO
Lesson 1 
I. Objectives:
 * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 + correctly pronounce the name of the letter Z/z 
 + correctly pronounce the name of the letter Z/z in isolation and in the words zoo, zebu and zebra
 + recognize the words in different situations when listening. 
 - Ss can develop some following competences: 
 + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 3, act 4
 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act ...hod:
 -Communicative Language Teaching
 -Total Physical Response
 -Natural Approach
 -3Ps
III. Teaching activities:
 Activity 1: Warm up 
Sing a song
 Activity 2: 
 -Content 1.Listen and repeat
 a. Teaching the letter Z/z 
 - Procedure:
 + Have Ss point to the letter Z/z explain that the name of the letter Z/z is different to its sound /Z/
 +Encourage Ss to repeat several times 
 b.Set the scence:
 - Procedure:
 +Have pupils look at the picture and describe it. Draw pupils’ atten...e recording again and have them listen, point to the letter Z/z and zoo, zebu and zebra
and repeat until they feel confident. Correct pronunciation, if necessary.
 +Play the recording again and call some pupils to say the letter Z/z and the words zoo, zebu and zebra in front of the class. 
 Activity 3: 
 -Content 2: Point and say
 - Procedure:
 +Have pupils look at the picture again, saying Look at the picture on Page 43, please! Ask them to describe the picture again. Draw their attention... the letter and the words in front of the class.
 Activity 4: 
 -Fun cornner : play a game “Finding treasure” 
 - Procedure:
 + Divide class into two groups
 + Ask Ss of two groups play game
 + Congratulate the winner
 t Consolidation:
 - Content: Review the letter Z/z and words (zoo, zebu and zebra)
- Procedure:
 + Ask Ss to answer the following questions:
 What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
 What are the core values of the lesson? ( if the teacher can take from the lesson...while listening
 + Trace the letter Z in upper case and lower case.
 +Write the letter Z/z and complete the zoo, zebu and zebra
 - Ss can develop some following competences: 
+ Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 3, act 4
+ Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2, act 3
+ Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4
+ Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4
 *Language focus: 
 - Structure: “ That’s a ..”
 - Differentiated teaching:
 + Incom...ter Z/z and the word zoo + Ask pupils to listen and repeat the first line, saying Listen again and repeat, please! Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident. 
 + Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands.
 + Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the chant individually and in chorus, saying Listen and chant, please! Give further support to those pupils who find it difficul...rds in front of the class
 + Ask pupils to say what they have heard and ticked
 + Ask pupils to share their idea with their partner
 + Call some to go to the board and write their answers
 Activity 4: 
-Content 5: Look and write:
 - Procedure:
 + Have pupils look at the letter Z (upper case) and z (lower case). Write the upper case Z and the lower case z on the board
 + Write the upper case Z and the lower case z in broken lines on the board
 + Tell pupils to trace the letter Z/z , sayi...son? ( if the teacher can take from the lesson). 
 + Praise some ss who are hard working/ active/ good. as well as encourage others to try more.
 + Give feedback 
t Homework:
	 - Learn by heart the pattern.
 - Review the song

UNIT 10: IN THE BACKYARD 
Lesson 3
I. Objectives:
 * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 + recognige target words and sentence tructure while listening
 + Use the sentence structures What do you want? I want some.
 to ask and...I don’t.”
 - Differentiated teaching:
 + Incomplete Ss: can use the sentence structures “Do you like the.? Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.”
 + Well-completed Ss: can use the sentence structures 
 Do you like the..? Yes, I do. / No, I don’t/
 Replace some words they’ve studied
 II. Materials:
 -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD.
 -Students’: books, crayons
III. Method:
 -Communicative Language Teaching
 -Total Physical Response
 -3Ps
III. Teaching activities:
 Activity 1: Warm up 
...for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence
 + Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “ Do you like the zoo? Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.” in front of the class. Correct their pronunciation
 + Have pupils work in pairs, good Ss will help the below average and average Ss.
 Activity 3: 
 -Content 7: Let’s talk 
 - Procedure:
 +Point to each character in the picture & elicit the words to fill the gaps.
 + Have Ss repeat the text in the bubbles a few times.
 + Repeat the procedu
