UNIT 6: IN THE CLASSROOM 
Lesson 1 
I. Objectives:
 * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 + correctly pronounce the name of the letter E /e
 + correctly pronounce the name of the letter E /e in isolation and in the words red,pen,pencil,bell
 + recognize the words in different situations when listening. 
 - Ss can develop some following competences
 + Communicative and collaborative competence:act 1,3,4
 + Problem-solving competence: act 1,3
 + Self...thod:
 -Communicative Language Teaching
 -Total Physical Response
 -Natural Approach
 -3Ps
III. Teaching activities:
 Activity 1: Warm up 
Sing a song
 Activity 2: 
 -Content 1.Listen and repeat
 a. Teaching the letter E/e
 - Procedure:
 + Have Ss point to the letter E/e explain that the name of the letter E/e is different to its sound /e /
 +Encourage Ss to repeat several times 
 b.Set the scence:
 - Procedure:
 +Have pupils look at the picture and describe it. Draw pupils’ atte...ficult to do the task.
 + Play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter E/e and the pencil and pen and repeat until they feel confident. Correct pronunciation, if necessary.
 +Play the recording again and call some pupils to say the letter E/e and the words red,pen,pencil, bell in front of the class. 
 Activity 3: 
 -Content 2: Point and say
 - Procedure:
 +Have pupils look at the picture again, saying Look at the picture on Page 26, please! Ask them to describe the pi...+ Invite some pupils to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter and the words in front of the class.
 Activity 4: 
 -Fun cornner : play a game “pelmanism” with the words pen,pencil,red,bell 
 - Procedure:
 + Divide class into two groups
 + Ask Ss of two groups play game
 + Congratulate the winner
 t Consolidation:
- Content: Review the letter E/e and words (red, pen, pencil)
- Procedure:
 + Ask Ss to answer the following questions:
 What have you learnt from the lesson to...il in the chant
 + recognise target words and sentence tructure while listening
 + Trace the letter E in upper case and e lower case.
 +Write the letter E/e and complete the words pen,pencil,red,bell
 - Ss can develop some following competences: 
+ Communicative and collaborative competence:act 1,3,4
+ Problem-solving competence: act 1,3
+ Self-studying and self-control competence:act 2, 3,4
+ Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4
 *Language focus: 
 - Phrases:a red pen,a red ...e chant. Ask them to pay attention to the letter E/e and the word red
+ Ask pupils to listen and repeat the first line, saying Listen again and repeat, please! Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident. 
 + Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands.
 + Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the chant individually and in chorus, saying Listen and chant, please! Give furthe... pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class
 + Ask pupils to say what they have heard and ticked
 + Ask pupils to share their idea with their partner
 + Call some to go to the board and write their answers
 Activity 4:

 - Procedure:
 + Have pupils look at the letter E (upper case) and e(lower case). Write the upper case E and the lower case e on the board
 + Write the upper caseE and the lower case e in broken lines on the board

 II. Materials:
 -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD.
 -Students’: books, crayons

III. Teaching activities:
 Activity 1: Warm up 
 - Game: “Grabbing pictures”

 - Procedure:

 + Have pupils work in pairs, good Ss will help the below average and average Ss.
 Activity 3: 
 -Content 7: Let’s talk 
 - Procedure:
 +Point to each picture & elicit its name & the words to fill the gaps.
 + Have Ss repeat the text in the bubbles a few times.
 + Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
 + Do choral & individual repetition.
